Murchie Megamix Race

This is the "Old Guard" of the BC racing scene, running for over 25 years. It is widely considered one of the hardest races to predict because the "parcours" (the course profile) looks easier than it actually feels.

The Course: Staged at the "Aldergrove Bowl" (Lefeuvre Rd & 8th Ave). It features an undulating highway section and long, windy rural roads.

The Signature Move: The twisty kicker to the line. After 80–100 km of being worn down by the wind, the finish is a technical, uphill snap that requires you to have one last explosive effort left in the legs.

Vibe: This is a race of attrition. It’s usually where the "diesel" engines excel—riders who can sustain high power while being buffeted by the valley winds.

Location: Aldor Acres, 8248 252 St. Langley BC

Organizer: Tenacious Drew | thrashersbc@gmail.com | Thrashers Bike Club.

🚴 The Course: "The Wind & The Wall"

The 2026 race features a 15 km loop that is much longer than the previous two races.

The Flats: A large portion of the race runs along the Fraser River. These roads are pancake-flat but extremely exposed to wind. If the group splits here due to crosswinds, the race can be over in minutes.

The Forest & Rollers: The course moves away from the river into more sheltered, rolling terrain through the forest.

Snake Hill: In many variations of this race (like the "Monument" version), riders have to tackle "Snake Hill" (264th St), a grueling climb that often serves as the launchpad for the winning move.
